This is not your typical 'vaccination only' hospital. The doctors here really believe in practicing 'good medicine'. You aren't just a number or a dollar sign at this vet. They not only believe in treating your pet for any problems but they also believe in 'preventive medicine'. Looking out for your pets future. Along with having skin issues - my 7 year old lab was showing early signs of arthritis. I only brought 'Lucky' in because he was itchy. Along with addressing Lucky's skin issues Dr. Johnson talked about signs of arthritis and what to look out for. One very easy thing I did for Lucky was put him on a glucosamine supplement, Dasuquin, (just like humans do) to help protect his joints and slow the damage that may be occuring. It's nice that a doctor takes the time to see beyond the original issue that brought you in and talks to you in depth about what else may be going on with your dog. You wouldn't find that in human medicine, that's for sure. If your pet is like a child to you - which mine is - You want the best!! It's at Dogwood Veterinary Hospital and Laser Center.

Maichel is a fraud. She works at the hospital. Any place that has to use reviews on the internet to entice customers is not somewhere I want to send my pets. This hospital is completely unprofessional. The main problem is the workers and the management are a complete disgrace. Not to mention the fact that it's overpriced care and the customer service leaves a lot to be desired. One of the Vet's assistants reeked of marijuana and was completely rude to me. The business should really clean house and basically start from scratch, because the workers there are a completely an embarrassment to the doctors.

After 14 years with another veterinary hospital I got tired of the constant wait to be seen and the turn over in Veterinarians. I switched to Dogwood last year and it was the best thing for both me and my animals. I am very impressed with the staff and the veterinarians - they care about my animals and treat them like I do! However two important things that made my choice easy: They are the only Veterinary Hospital in Coweta County that offers 24 Hour Emergency Care to their clients. (Is it only my pets that get hurt at night or on weekends?!) The other was that they are the only AAHA (American Animal Hospital Association) accredited hospital in Coweta County. This means that they are inspected every year to make sure they are using the latest techniques and equipment and held to a higher Standard of Care to maintain this accreditation. They used a Laser to spay an old dog that I found (Rex) which made the pain less and the healing faster and they also have a different type of Laser Therapy that they use to help with his arthritis. It really works! I have a lot of faith and trust with Dogwood Veterinary Hospital, the doctors and staff, and it’s nice to know that they have to say current with changes. I heard someone once say that they are your “Other Family Doctor” and I believe it. What more could you ask for? Guess you can tell I wouldn’t switch Veterinary Hospitals for anything!

I see from reading the 2 and ONLY other reviews of this clinic that they are replying on how they received "EMERGENCY CARE" and that obviously their pet turned out okay, that TOO would make me want to give ANY Vet 5 stars if they saved my pets life. BUT my experience as a regular consumer with this Vet did not prove to be so "Great" I took my puppy in for kennel cough, he had acquired it on the flight to me from the breeder in Colorado, I was given medicine and I must say that the kennel cough did go away with no problems at all, but I HAD intended on using this vet as my PRIMARY vet based mainly on the fact of their certification and the fact they were only a couple miles away from where I lived. BUT during my visit with the vet, she asked me if I was going to Neuter my puppy. (HE WAS ONLY 12 weeks old) and I said I was unsure, because I thought i might want to show him, then all of a sudden she said he might have this and that, things that a couple weeks later after another vet visit in Peachtree City I was told my puppy had no imperfections at all medically. NO ONE can say for sure until about at 1 yr whether a dog is going to turn out to be a show dog or not, and I am not displeased because that is not what they told me. What they did say to me made me feel they were PUSHING for me to Neuter. I also found the Doctor herself to not have such a great attitude. I didn't get a good feeling when meeting her with my puppy. Her assistant however was WONDERFUL, but her assistant is not going to be the one treating my dog. I am now VERY PLEASED with The Animal Medical Center in Peachtree City, GA where Dr. Rip is wonderful to my puppy and gives me confidence in him as a veterinarian.

If you want a one service and people that really care, you need to try Dogwood. They provide quality service in a friendly, professional manner. The animal's health and safety is their primary goal and you can really tell that while your there. We needed emergency care for one of our cats and they were right there for us and we got their right before they closed. But they stayed and done what was necessary.
